La Salle, TX – Fatal Crash with Fire on I-35 Near Mile Marker 55

La Salle, TX (September 24, 2025) – A deadly crash occurred Monday afternoon, September 22, on Interstate 35 near mile marker 55 in La Salle County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported receiving calls about the accident at 3:52 p.m. Deputies arrived to find a white Ford pickup truck fully engulfed in flames and a tractor-trailer partially on fire. Investigators believe the pickup rear-ended the trailer while traveling northbound, though the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.

Due to the fire, it is unclear how many passengers were inside the pickup truck. Sadly, authorities confirmed that the crash resulted in at least one fatality. The tractor-trailer driver sustained only minor injuries.
