Cloquet, MN – 2 Injured in Crash on I-35 NB Near Moorhead Rd
Cloquet, MN (October 15, 2025) – Two people were injured Sunday evening, October 12, following a two-vehicle crash on northbound I-35 just south of Moorhead Rd in Cloquet, Carlton County. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the collision occurred around 7:38 p.m.
According to investigators, a 2020 Hyundai Elantra driven by 20-year-old Jaide Kylee Dawson of Ramsey lost control on the wet roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to hydroplane into a 2009 Dodge Avenger driven by 80-year-old Anthony Eugene Booker of Superior, Wisconsin.
Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Dawson was transported to Essentia Hospital in Duluth, while Booker was taken to Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that both individuals were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The Carlton Fire Department and Carlton County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the incident to determine all contributing factors. Our thoughts are with both injured drivers, and we wish them a full and swift recovery.
