Clay Co., MO – Injury Crash on I-35 SB Near MM 29.8
Clay County, MO (August 8, 2025) – A crash involving three vehicles occurred on Wednesday, August 6, at approximately 4:50 p.m. on southbound Interstate 35, just south of the 29.8-mile marker. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred when a 2013 RAM 1500 came to a stop, followed by a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee slowing down. A 2015 Honda Odyssey then struck the rear of the Jeep, causing the Jeep to slide and strike the RAM truck’s rear.
Emergency responders transported several individuals to nearby hospitals for treatment. A 9-year-old female and a 14-year-old male, both juvenile passengers in the Jeep, were taken to Liberty Hospital by Clay County EMS. The 16-year-old female driver of the Honda Odyssey was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital by Tri-County EMS. Additionally, the 53-year-old female driver of the RAM truck was also transported to Liberty Hospital by Lawson EMS.
The crash caused significant delays on I-35 Southbound as emergency services responded. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
