Thackerville, OK – Police Pursuit Ends in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-35 Near Exit 1

Thackerville, OK (October 24, 2025) – A police chase on Monday evening, October 20, ended in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 35 near Exit 1 in Thackerville. According to Chief of Police Jonathan Buckaloo, the pursuit began after an officer attempted a traffic stop and the driver fled.

The suspect drove the wrong way up an off-ramp on I-35, causing a crash involving two other vehicles. Victims from those vehicles were transported to North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect suffered more severe injuries and was first taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Marietta, then transferred to OU Medical for surgery.

Oklahoma Department of Public Safety reported that the northbound off-ramp at Exit 1 was closed around 8 p.m. due to the wreck. About an hour later, authorities reopened both the off-ramp and highway. Charges against the suspect will be presented to the Love County District Attorney’s Office.
