Temple, TX – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by 18-Wheeler on I-35/Exit 298
Temple, TX (October 6, 2025) – One person lost their life after being hit by an 18-wheeler on I-35 in Bell County on Monday afternoon, October 6. According to the Temple Police Department, officers were dispatched around 3:38 p.m. to the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Exit 298. Investigators say the victim was attempting to cross the busy interstate when they were struck by the commercial truck.
The driver of the 18-wheeler remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Rosanne Fisher. No other injuries were reported, and traffic in the area was temporarily halted as officers conducted their investigation. The Temple Police Department continues to examine the circumstances that led to this fatal collision.
