San Antonio, TX – One Killed, One Hurt in Crash on I-35 near Cassin Rd

San Antonio, TX (August 23, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred Wednesday evening on San Antonio’s Southwest Side when a driver ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle, police reported.

San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) responded to the scene on August 20 around 6:00 p.m. on the southbound access road of Interstate 35 near Cassin Road in the 9500 block. The collision involved a Honda Accord and a Chevrolet Impala.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the Accord’s driver was traveling north on I-35 and failed to stop at a stop sign, leading to the impact with the Impala, which was heading east on Cassin Road.

The driver of the Accord was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The Impala’s driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.
