Mounds View, MN – Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving School Bus on I-35W

Mounds View, MN (September 9, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus shut down traffic on Tuesday, September 9, on southbound Interstate 35W near County Road 10.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported the accident occurred around 7:50 a.m. A white sedan attempted to change lanes, striking the bus. The impact pushed the sedan into the median before it hit a concrete divider.

Images from MnDOT cameras showed students standing on the roadway by another school bus following the crash. Officials have not confirmed the number of students on board or if anyone was injured.

Crews cleared the scene, and the southbound lanes of I-35W reopened by 8:45 a.m. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
