La Salle, TX – I-35 Crash Involving Pickup and Tractor-Trailer Kills One

La Salle, TX (September 22, 2025) – A catastrophic crash on Interstate 35 in La Salle County left at least one person dead after a pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer on Monday afternoon, September 22. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported the incident near mile marker 55 at approximately 3:52 p.m.

Deputies arrived to find a white Ford pickup truck fully engulfed in flames and the tractor-trailer partially on fire. Early reports suggest the pickup rear-ended the big rig while traveling northbound, though the exact cause is still under investigation. Due to the fire, authorities have not yet determined the number of occupants in the pickup or their identities.

The tractor-trailer driver sustained minor injuries and received medical attention at the scene. Emergency crews closed the northbound lanes at mile marker 48 and the southbound lanes at mile marker 56. Traffic was redirected to frontage roads while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and clear the scene.
