Kansas City, MO – Two Injured in Rear-End Crash on I-35 SB at Bedford Ave

Kansas City, MO (October 23, 2025) – Two people were injured Tuesday morning following a rear-end collision on Interstate 35 southbound at Bedford Ave in Clay County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:10 a.m. when a 2016 Toyota Corolla struck the back of a 2023 Kia Seltos that was stopped in traffic. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by Brad’s Tow of Smithville.

The driver of the Kia, a 30-year-old man from Olathe, Kansas, suffered minor injuries and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital. His passenger, a 30-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, also sustained minor injuries and was taken to the University of Kansas Hospital for treatment. The Corolla driver, a 26-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, was not reported injured.

Trooper M.J. Saladrigas and Trooper A.M. Storey, along with the North Kansas City Police Department, assisted at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
