Iowa City, IA – Wrong-Way Crash on SB I-35 Near MM 87

Iowa City, IA (September 23, 2025) – Multiple people were injured in a wrong-way collision on southbound Interstate 35 near mile marker 87 on Sunday, September 22. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a 2022 Ford F-150.

Five individuals, ages 21 to 27, were transported to Mercy Hospital with injuries. The extent of their injuries has not been confirmed so far. The identity of the wrong-way driver has not yet been released.
